Between spring Season Sports including track, basketball, flag football, gymnastics and the start of cheer conditioning with my oldest two children, not to mention working full-time, coaching, mentoring, and being a team mom for nearly all their Sports, and of course still tending to my duties as a full-time Mommy, it’s hectic.
The crazy lifestyle of an active family is in constant rotation of non-stop action. They are absolutely no seasons off for us. Summers are all about conditioning for the fall football and cheer season which are three days a week practices and weekend games and competitions.
Of course, the winters and Summers are my two slower months, especially the winter. These are times I love to spend with the kids doing more bonding activities as much as possible. While I don’t ever want to exhaust my children, my dedication to them meets the needs of certain goals I feel it’s best they achieve now.
Mastering the art of successfully balancing academics, Athletics, and other activities, the importance of maintaining dedication, motivation, and a great work ethic and attitude, practicing humility, and strength and knowing the importance of perseverance, all while never forgetting to love one another and make time to be supportive to one another, are a few of many goals my trio works to perfect daily.
And still, it’s a lot, but to make it look this easy, I have some key tips that’ll make you moms, busy professionals, or crazy tired folks, find some peace and organization through the madness.
7 Keys To Manage A Crazy Lifestyle:
๐ Plan, Plan, Plan – plan as much as you can ahead of time. From 3 meals a day (Monday-Sunday meal preps), make a schedule so you see how you’ll be running from one thing to the next. This way, if you do have school-age kids, you can make sure you plan for their tutoring or homework one-on-one time with them.
๐ Get At Least 8 Hours Of Sleep – proper sleep allows your body to properly function to run as much as you’d like to.
๐ Exercise – good health means more energy to get things done and not only feel like you can keep up, but actually keep up.
๐ Write Daily/ Weekly To-Do List- senior goals being checked off feels great! like of sense of accomplishment. It also helps you make sure things don’t get left neglected while you’re busy running like the Energizer Bunny.
๐ Do Your Weekly Gratitude Journaling – give thanks for even the smallest successes in your week. For example quotation I’m so thankful for making it from work to both kids practices this week quotation. As you continue to do more journaling, it’ll get deeper and more substantial. The more good you gratefully focus on, the more you receive to be grateful for.
๐ Family Time Is Primetime – now while this seems like a given, just because you’re always on the go go go with your family doesn’t mean you’re spending time. Technically you all are still in work mode. Aside from all the obligations, special family dinners, game nights, movie and moms bed even though we have to squeeze nights are quality.
๐ Find A Minute For Yourself – we’re not all blessed with a babysitter to save us from The Hectic lifestyle we have, but even if you can start with 20 to 30 minutes a day, week, or bi-weekly when you kids watch a movie without you or something, take this time to unwind a minute. Breathe, Stretch, and self affirm quotation I’m doing a damn good job at making my ship cruise and it only gets better quotation. Start with these small breaks and work towards the real time off that you need.
